The Nissan S30 (sold in Japan as the Nissan Fairlady Z and in other markets as the Datsun 240Z and later as the 260Z and 280Z) was the first generation of Z GT 2 seater and 2+2 coupes produced by Nissan Motors, Ltd. of Japan from 1970 to 1978. It was designed by a team led by Mr. Yoshihiko Matsuo, the head of Nissan's Sports Car Styling Studio. HLS30 was the designation of the left-hand drive model and HS30 for the right-hand drive model.

The Dart and its sister model, the Plymouth Valiant. With the new design, changes were made to the Dart line-up, beginning with the elimination of its station wagons and the base model's "170" designation. The only body styles were the 2 and 4-door sedans, the hardtop, and the convertible. The base 170 model was now badged simply as Dart. The 270 and GT versions carried on unchanged for the most part. In late 1967, the GTS model debuted but was built in limited quantities due to its lateness in the model year; the 1968 GTS would be, arguably, improved by fitting the new high-output 340 cu in (5.6 L) V8 engine as standard equipment. read more on wikipedia.

It was clear after the sales drop of the 1967 Charger that a restyle was in order. Dodge was going to restyle their entire B-body lineup for 1968 and decided that it was time to separate the Coronet and Charger models even further. What designer Richard Sias came up with was a double-diamond design that would later be referred to as coke bottle styling. From the side profile the curves around the front fenders and rear quarter panels look almost like a Coke bottle. Front and rear end sheet metal was designed by Harvey J Winn. The rear end featured a "kick up" spoiler appearance, inspired by Group 7 racing vehicles. read more on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1969_Dodge_Charger

In 1969 not much was changed for the popular Charger. Exterior changes included a new grille with a center divider and new longitudinal taillights both designed by Harvey J. Winn. A new trim line called the Special Edition (SE) was added. This could be available by itself or packaged with the R/T, thus making an R/T-SE. The SE added leather inserts to the front seats only, chrome rocker moldings, a wood grain steering wheel and wood grain inserts on the instrument panel. A sunroof was added to the option list as well, and it would prove to be a very rare option (some 260 sold). The bumble bee stripes returned as well, but were changed slightly. Instead of four stripes it now featured one huge stripe framed by two smaller stripes. In the middle of the stripe an R/T cutout was placed. If the stripe was deleted, then a metal R/T emblem was placed where the R/T cutout was. Total production was around 89,199 units. readmore on wikipedia.

The world of "what if" is a far more interesting place to explore, as in: "What if Chevrolet had offered the Z/28 option on the Nova?" This became a recurring theme with Strope. Never being satisfied with the "what if" factor, he quickly shifted into the realm of "why not?" Why not build a 1969 Z/28 and put "the what ifs" to bed? The car would sport many first-gen Camaro Z/28 features-cross-ram, dual-quad intake, rear spoiler, houndstooth interior with console-mounted gauges. However, the suspension and brakes would be grounded in the 21st century and the powerplant would make more power than the factory 302 ever dreamed of.

Starting from the ground up, the Nova's subframe was worked over like one of Tony Soprano's victims. The original suspension was given a pair of cement shoes, then deep-sixed. In its place went an infinitely more capable Global West G-Plus system of upper and lower tubular A-arms, coilover springs and shocks, 1-inch sway bar, subframe connectors and body mounts. The rear received Global West leaf springs and Del-A-Lum bushings, Strange S60 Dana axles and 3.73 gears.
