IRVINE, CALIF. Saleen Inc., manufacturer of the worlds fastest production car the Saleen S7 today announced it will be sponsoring the worlds largest road rally: The Great American Run. This event marks the state-side arrival of Europes most famous road rally taking place July 29 August 4, 2007. To celebrate the inaugural U.S. rally, Saleen Inc. has been commissioned by Cannonball Run World Events, Inc. (CRWE) to uniquely modify 25 stock Saleen S281 Extreme Mustangs with an additional 50 horsepower (aftermarket upgrade*), and identical black-on-black paint and graphics packages. CRWE has reserved one of the modified 600 horsepower Extremes for the winner of the event.

On July 29, 2007, 400 cars will start from four originating cities: Washington D.C., New York, Atlanta and Miami, to embark on a 3000 mile coast-to-coast free-for-all. Each night, entrants will enjoy luxury hotel accommodations at four star hotels and extravagant parties. Each of the cars will ultimately regroup in Las Vegas, where the remaining drivers will gather for the final leg of the rally to Los Angeles for the events award ceremony and track day at the historic Willow Springs Raceway.

The 2007 Saleen S281 Extreme is quickly becoming known as the worlds fastest production Mustang. With 550 horsepower, 525 lb-ft of torque, Saleens patented Racecraft suspension, close-ratio six-speed transmission, 4:10 rear gearing with a Maxgrip differential, high-flow cooling system, 15 slotted and vented disc brake system, and numerous additional internal and external performance enhancements; the Extreme rivals all competitors in the high-performance sports car world, including the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Ferrari 430, Porsche 911 Carrera and the Dodge Viper SRT-10.

For the Great American Run, CRWE will be commissioning Saleen, Inc. to modify 25 stock Saleen S281 Extremes and having them converted to 600 horsepower, with aftermarket options available soon through the Saleen SpeedLab. CRWE has named this exclusive collection of cars The Ultimate Bad Boy Edition and will only make them available to race entrants.
The 550 horsepower Saleen S281 Extreme is currently available for purchase at The Saleen Store and Saleen Certified Dealers for those not participating in the event. Visit www.saleen.com for further product and dealer information.

Ford F-150 Saleen S331 Sport Truck 2007

Car Name: Ford F-150 Saleen S331 Sport Truck
Brand Name: Saleen

The Saleen S331 Sport Truck threatened to redefine the sport truck segment when the prototype was released at the 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show. Just as promised, Saleen has followed up with the production launch of both supercharged and 3-Valve versions of the Saleen S331 Sport Truck. Designed and engineered by the same technicians that hand-build the Saleen S7, the S331 merges the functionality of a truck with optimum performance and styling of a world-class sports car.

The production Saleen S331 Sport Truck offers a new level of sophistication to the truck world. For the first time truck owners will feel appropriately suited arriving at the lake or symphony, said Steve Saleen, Founder and Vice Chairman of Saleen, Inc. Performance trucks seem to be universally defined as weekend drivers and show cars. The Saleen S331 maintains its position as a Saleen performance vehicle, while remaining a very capable and comfortable daily driver that has phenomenal towing capabilities. Not to mention that it looks as good as it performs.

For 2007, both Saleen S331 Sport Truck models are available as a Super Cab and feature a 331 CID (5.4L), 3-valve SOHC V-8 engine with a four-speed automatic transmission. The supercharged model packs a punch at 450 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque, which is due in part to the patented, high-flow Saleen Series VI integrated twin-screw supercharger, while the 3-Valve offers 325 hp with 380 lb-ft of torque. For increased cooling, an aluminum dual-core radiator and high-flow cooling system are also available as options on either model.

Saleen S7 Twin Turbo 2005

Car Name: Saleen S7 Twin Turbo
?Brand Name: Saleen

TopClass View

While there are a number of different roads Saleens engine designers could have traveled down to achieve those high-altitude horsepower and torque figures, for this second edition of the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo they decided to think beyond atmospheric. And because this is Saleen, they added a double twist to a tried and true racing technique for boosting power and torque: twin turbos.

Aerodynamics has also come under scrutiny for 2005. Unless you place the new Saleen S7 Twin Turbo next to one of the original 2002 models, you probably wont notice that the 2005 version has a different diffuser/rear spoiler package and reshaped front fenders to enhance the S7s already sleek, swoopy and aerodynamic contours. To complement the Twin Turbos enhanced straight-line performance envelope the S7 chassis has also undergone a fair amount of tweaking. Virtually every suspension pickup point has been changed, and the suspension geometry has been modified for less squat and dive during acceleration and braking.

Designed by Saleen engineers, the S7s engine and drivetrain incorporate the latest in modern racing technology. The new all-aluminum V8 engine casting was engineered and tooled by Saleen to displace seven liters. Redline is 6500 rpm. Space age materials and engineering are used throughout, including stainless steel valves, titanium retainers, beryllium exhaust valve seats, an aluminum throttle body, Saleendesigned aluminum CNC-machined cylinder heads and stainless steel exhaust system. An exclusive Saleen-designed Front Engine Accessory Drive (FEAD) system results in an extremely compact engine, allowing for better packaging and overall weight distribution. The V8 incorporates a unique Saleen-designed side-mounted water pump, a belt-driven camshaft drive and a Saleen-engineered dry sump oil delivery system. The engines mid-chassis placement optimizes weight distribution and center of gravity, making room for an unusually tall engine that allows for a very efficient induction system. Air enters a roof intake, passes through a 90-mm mass air meter and feeds into a carbon fiber plenum. From the plenum the air is routed to the twin ball bearing turbos, is pressurized to 5.5 psi max and then passes through an oval-bore throttle body into an aluminum intake manifold with eight individual runners.

To feed juice to this setup, the injection system includes dual electric fuel pumps and high-capacity, return-less, 52 lb/hr fuel injectors. Neatly engineered and integrated into the S7s stainless steel, dual, high-flow exhaust system are two, twin-ball-bearing, water-cooled Saleen-Garrett turbos, featuring 44-mm wastegates. The four exhaust pipes from each bank of cylinders merge into a race-car-like high-efficiency collector. In addition, the exhaust incorporates dual catalysts per cylinder bank, EGR and those aforementioned twin wastegates. And because Saleen believes in power and clean air, the emission control system features dual, heated oxygen sensors per cylinder bank and a high-volume evaporative emission system along with those four catalysts. Oh, and for good measure and clean air, the system is OBD-II compliant.
