2012 Cadillac SRX : SUV Review and Pictures

Cadillac will offer a larger, more powerful engine on the 2012 SRX crossover, the new engine is a version of the direct-injection 3.6-liter V6 that is offered in the Cadillac CTS sedan and other models. In the 2012 SRX, the 3.6 V6 will deliver 300 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, compared with 304 hp and 273 lb-ft in the 2011 CTS. Cadillac said the 3.6 will be quicker than the 265-hp 3.0-liter V6 that is now standard in the SRX and provides 0-60 acceleration in 7.5 seconds. The 3.6 also is flex-fuel capable, which means it can run on any blend of gasoline and ethanol up to E85.

Feature and content enhancements for 2012 include:

1. Standard Bluetooth phone connectivity on all models, with on-screen caller identification
2. OnStar Turn-by-Turn automated directions are loaded to the vehicle
3. Improved voice recognition for phone activation, navigation and radio station changes
4. A heated steering wheel on the Luxury, Performance and Premium Collections
5. Door lock switches on the driver and passenger door panels as well as the center console
6. Cruise control buttons on the steering wheel
7. Memory seat set - the occupant can set the seating position simply by pressing "set" and the number simultaneously
8. Backlighting for map lights in the overhead console
9. A new machined-face finish on the 20-inch wheels, which are standard on Performance and Premium Collections
10. Available all-ebony interior trim
11. One new exterior color: Xenon Blue Metallic.
12. Popular features returning for 2012 include a moveable cargo fence and large under-floor storage space in the rear, a liftgate that can be programmed to stop at different heights and the UltraView sunroof that covers 70 percent of the vehicle roof.

The new and enhanced elements that contribute to a quieter ride include new acoustic material in the upper instrument panel, front-of-dash area, the center console area and the inner fenders, as well as laminated glass used in the front side glass.
