Carbon Motors, creators of the Carbon E7, announced today that they have selected Connersville, Indiana as their new home where they will invest over $350 million to develop and produce the new E7 police car. The Carbon E7 is slated to go into production in 2012.

Carbon Motors announced last month that it has received more than 10,000 reservations for its E7, which should make getting chased by cops a little more exciting.

The E7 is powered by a 3.0L turbo-diesel producing a total of 300-hp. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that helps it go from 0 to 60 mph time of 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. Estimated fuel-economy comes in between 28 to 30 mpg.

First Jaguar XF Police Cars go on Duty in the (UK)

Almost a year after the announcement on the development of a police package for the new Jaguar XF, and the first ever pursuit versions of the British saloon are about to go on patrol across the Midlands.

The Central Motorway Police Group, which patrols motorways across Staffordshire, Mercia and the West Midlands, has bought seven high performance Police-spec XFs. All are based on the Diesel S model that features a 3.0-liter unit churning out 275-horsepower and 443lb-ft of peak torque, while still returning 42mpg UK and a CO2 rating of 179 g/km.

Geoff Cousins, Managing Director for Jaguar Cars UK, said: "Police forces across the country have been evaluating the XF and we are delighted that the team at the Central Motorway Police Group has chosen Jaguar to join its fleet."

The police-spec XFs get a special package that includes a roof mounted light bar with 3600 blue flashing lights and integrated side alley lights, blue and white flashing LED lights inside the front grille, side mounted blue flashing LED lights, blue and red flashing LED lights integrated in the rear light clusters and a Home Office-specification electronics 'Police pack'.

The seven Jaguar XFs will be put to work immediately throughout the Midlands.

Secifications are nowhere to be seen, on looks alone the Evo X Interceptor is an impressive bit of gear. Presented at last month's National Association of Police Fleet Managers Exhibition, the Evo X could potentially see active duty on the streets of the UK.

The images follow from recent news that the Victorian Police have adopted an Evo X of their own, shown in the gallery below. This is not the first time Aussie Law Enforcement has gone JDM either, some of you may remember the MY00  Subaru WRX police car.

While these types of police car specials may do little more than turn heads, the garish decals - and the Evo X sled - will ensure that drivers thinking of (ahem) misbehaving will be unlikely to miss their presence on the roads (just don't look for too long and end up in someone's paintwork).
