The eagerly awaited Jaguar F-Type has undergone its first dynamic evaluation outside of Jaguar??s official development program with world-renowned drivers Martin Brundle, Christian Danner and Justin Bell at the wheel.
Camouflaged prototypes of the 280kW/460Nm Jaguar F-Type S and 364kW/625Nm F-Type V8 S were put through their paces by the three respected drivers at the UK??s Snetterton 300 circuit and surrounding Norfolk roads for a proper appraisal of the two cars.
Jaguar claims the F-Type S can cover the 0-100km/h sprint in 4.9 seconds and is electronically limited to 275km/h, while the F-Type V8 S needs just 4.3 seconds to complete the same run and is limited to 300km/h.
Both Jaguar F-Type models feature an all-aluminium construction, adaptive dynamics suspension and an active exhaust system.
Jaguar chief engineer of vehicle integrity and the man responsible for making the F-Type is a world-class sports car Mike Cross witnessed the occasion.
??It??s been a fascinating day,? Cross said. ??The entire F-Type development program has, from a vehicle development perspective, been focused on delivering a connected sports car driving experience. To witness three respected drivers take to the track and to hear their positive comments validate our work has been great.?
Jaguar will launch all three F-Type models ?" F-Type, F-Type S and F-Type V8 S ?" in April 2013.
