The ItalDesign Giugiaro Parcour concept has been unveiled in Geneva in one of the surprises of this year??s motor show.
Taking advantage of its links to Lamborghini under the Volkswagen Group umbrella, the ItalDesign Giugiaro Parcour concept borrows the 410kW/540Nm 5.2-litre V10 from the Gallardo and uses it to catapult the mid-engined all-wheel-drive two-seater from 0-100km/h in just 3.6 seconds.
ItalDesign Giugiaro says in its pursuit of a creating a high-performance vehicle that is comfortable across all types of terrain, the Parcour concept combines design features from the world of SUVs, crossovers, Gran Turismos and sports cars in a package that is simultaneously robust, slimline and lightweight.
Presented in both coupe and open-top body styles, the Parcour features sinister LED headlights positioned in a wide, dark grille; a long bonnet with a comprehensive venting system; front-hinged scissor doors; and a muscular rear end with sweeping C-pillars, strong haunches and sharp LED tail-lights.
ItalDesign describes the Parcour??s unique suspension as ??pushrod 2.0?. The system comprises two coil-overs per corner, for eight in total ?" four of which operate while driving on the street or on a circuit, while all eight are engaged for off-road use. The driver can vary the concept??s ride height by up to 120mm depending on the terrain, lifting it from 210mm to 330mm at the turn of a dial that offers Comfort, Off-Road, Ice and Track settings.
The minimalist interior features a multi-function LCD monitor split into two sections in front of the driver??s eyes: the top half displaying navigation, vehicle status, entertainment and reversing camera images, while the lower half displays speed, revs, fuel use and other routine running information.
The ItalDesign Giugiaro Parcour concept was designed, engineered and produced in Moncalieri, Italy.
